Dokos Island is an untouched place from the reconstruction, due to the fact that it has been declared an archeological site. It is mountainous and rocky, and the whole east, west and south side are without port, while only in the north, Skindou bay is a good anchorage.
The island is inhabited by a few natives and the visitor has the pleasure of seeing animals move freely on it. Three donkeys, some free turkeys, a few hens and a few goats roaming freely, create an incredibly bucolic setting.
